Enchanted Rock
For many years, scout troops from all across Texas have come to us for the excitement that rock climbing offers. Texas Climbing Adventures believes that climbing encourages life skills that are in line with the mission that scouting organizations aim to promote in today’s youth. Goal setting, problem solving and growth in self-confidence stretch the minds of young climbers just as agility, balance and muscle strength build their bodies. Socially, rock climbing supports team building, trust, and self-esteem.
Texas Climbing Adventures is proud to offer climbing programs for the Boy Scouts of America. Our course offers instruction designed to provide participants with solid rock climbing and rappelling techniques and teach critical safety procedures. Qualified BSA Merit Badge Counselors are on staff to assess for the Climbing Merit Badge. Our guides have a willingness to answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and delight in introducing young climbers to the sport.

GROUP SIZE
  • We maintain a guide to climber ratio of 1:6
  • Limiting total group sizes to at most 15 climbers allows for adequate supervision and participation while respecting environmental impact concerns and permit restrictions. Please contact for groups larger than 15.
  • We focus on scouts only for climbing instruction for the day.  If Dads or other adults want to climb, we suggest booking a separate course for that. We ask that we limit the adult group to scout leaders, guides, and chaperones. Parents will need to stay at the campsite or go on a separate hike. This is because of limited space at the climbing areas. Furthermore this helps to insure safety, and most importantly overall experience for the scouts.
